Their comprehensive Digital Transformation platform, drives and accelerates the Mobile, Analytics & AI / ML, IoT / Industry 4.0, Cloud and Social journeys of their customers. A tenured Technology major, our client has grown at phenomenal speed over the past few years, with Japan being one of the key drivers, attracting talent at various levels, including leadership.

Role details:

• Title / Designation: Country Head / Delivery Head – Japan
• Role position: Principal Director or AVP
• Reporting Manager: EVP and Delivery Head – Emerging Markets BU
• Location: Tokyo, Japan

Role & responsibilities:

• Steer technology delivery, end to end
• Own the country P&L for Japan BU
• Build relations with Customers, taking overall engagement ownership (Travel within the country on business, when required)
• Collaborate with Sales and Presales teams to help win new accounts and to expand presence in existing accounts
• As required, work with local partners in Japan for staffing / subcontracting of work

Candidate requirements:

• 20-25 years of experience in relevant portfolio of solutions and services ((IT Services / Systems Integration / Enterprise Technologies (like SAP)/ Legacy Modernization / Digital Solutions / Consulting))
• Should have been working in Japan, with IT Services / SI / Digital Solutions / Consulting organisations for at least the latest 8 years
• Should be at least N2-certified; N1-certified will be first preference. Fluency with ability to read, write and speak in Japanese is an absolute prerequisite
• Must have demonstrable technical skills in SAP and in legacy migration with Java or .NET or other languages
• Solutions and / or delivery skills in Digital and Emerging technology solutions (Mobile, Analytics & AI / ML, IoT / Industry 4.0, Social and Cloud – including native and migration propositions) is highly preferable
• Should be a ‘take charge’ independent leader, with a history of scaling up technology businesses / business units, by, say, 2.5x to 3x over, say, a 3-year horizon
• Should currently be leading a portfolio of at least $ 20 million in annual revenues in the relevant portfolio
• Should have worked with SI companies in an onsite-offshore model
• Experience and expertise in Manufacturing and / or BFS verticals is highly preferable  
• Must be highly conversant with the delivery ecosystem in Japan, with experience of engaging local partners for staffing / subcontracting of work
• Graduate degree in Engineering or Science
