The Director-Disaster & Reliability Management is part of the IT Operations team within the CTO Organization at Cairo and reports to the Vice President of IT Operations.
Our client has a multivendor hybrid outsourced model for its Infrastructure IT operations. The IT Operations team works with various businesses, in-house IT teams, IT partners, and OEMs (original equipment manufacturer (OEM- eg. Apple, HP, Dell, Canon, and Brother)) to maintain high-quality services around the clock. The Director-Disaster & Reliability Management would be responsible for managing the IT Disaster Recovery and IT BCP Policies, Processes, and operations with the relevant operational teams in line with the agreed Service Level Targets, Ensuring DR compliance is maintained across critical applications and services. The role will ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements; it will develop, maintain, and administer Technology BCP & DR program tools, templates, and guidelines while ensuring up-to-date record keeping and reporting of DR test results. It involves working with IT teams, such as Network Operations, the Service Desk, Applications, Strategy & Architecture, and the project delivery teams, to ensure close alignment and engagement in implementing major developments and enhancements within the existing IT infrastructure.
As a result of rapid growth, the global nature of the business, and the history of multiple outsourcing arrangements, The landscape needs to be more cohesive, with numerous duplications in data and tools and low process adherence. One of the critical expectations of this role is to be streamlined and drive large-scale change forward. This role will need to quickly understand the current landscape and develop the road map to achieve the desired future state.
Responsibilities
* Work with Business Continuity management at the Global and Sector level to ensure that the disaster recovery, crisis management and business continuity plans are aligned.
*Review DR capability preparedness for the application server network and database systems within Recovery Time Objective RTO Coordinate and lead all IT DR testing to ensure timely recovery capability in the event of a disaster
*Lead IT DR Plan testing schedule and oversee testing processes and resources coordination. Ensure the IT DR Plan is aligned with the Business Impact Analysis Perform
* Lead Business Impact Analysis to help determine system criticality and Recovery Time Objectives RTOs for business applications.
Qualifications
Mandatory Skills
*15 - 18 yrs. Experience in managing large-scale IT Operations, understands Disaster and Reliability management and must have practiced it for at least 8 years.
* Expert level Knowledge of IT processes, especially IT Disaster Recovery, Infrastructure systems, Business Continuity, Disaster recovery plans, RPO and RTO strategies, and a good hands-on experience in working at large enterprises.
* Deep understanding of IT DR at both a technical and business level In-depth
* knowledge of current best practices and technologies and their DR applications
*Experience in planning and executing enterprise-wide DR testing
* Experience working with and managing relationships with 3rd party DR providers.
* Ensure enterprise IT Disaster Recovery.
Preferred Skills
*Strong Knowledge of Information Security domains and Cloud Security process
*Fluent with AIX concepts (VIO, LPM, VCPU, enterprise mobility, etc.)
*Fluent with High Availability technologies (e.g. IBM TSA)
*Proven experience in implementing an IT Risk Governance Framework in a global context
*Strong relationship building capability
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
*Proven experience of managing an effective working relationship with audit departments, and challenging where appropriate"
