Job Title: Data & Data Governance Analyst- USA

Job Purpose
Data & Data Governance reports to Chief Data and Analytics Officer. Leading Data Governance, Data quality and Data Lineage function. This role provides support to core data analyst function.
Responsibilities
Data Analysis
- Performs complex analyses.
- Conducts and facilitates issues identification based on in-depth analysis on various data sets to determine Route cause analysis and work with appropriate parties to remediate data issues.
- Analyze raw data a across source systems and turn it into actionable insights and support business decision-making.
- Provide ad-hoc analytics support.
- Utilize statistical and analytical tools to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in the data, automate testing procedures and find opportunities to eliminate manual data exchanges.
- Develops and manages data mapping, transformation rules and lineage.
Data Governance
- Perform data profiling of source data to assess quality and Identify opportunities to improve data quality at the source.
- Work with business data owners to create Business Glossary
- Work with business data owners to identify CDE and governing data quality rules.
- Document technical and business metadata.
- Help with implementing Data Governance procedures based on governing policies.
Data Quality Management
- Assess and improve data quality by identifying and addressing data discrepancies, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies.
- Design and Implement data quality checks and validation processes to maintain high standards of data accuracy.
- Develop data scorecards and Data quality metrics to assess, improve and monitor data quality of bank data.
Collaborate with cross-functional team.
- Own data delivery projects under guidance of CDAO
- Work with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate those requirements into data and technical specifications.
- Work with IT and data engineering to facilitate solution and make sure the solution meet requirements.
- Lead System Testing and be responsible to coordinate and lead User Acceptance Testing.
Documentation
- Document data processes, data lineage, and metadata to ensure transparency and facilitate knowledge transfer within the organization.
- Create and maintain artifacts for assigned data projects.
- Document company data assets and contribute to data modeling.
- Works closely with CDAO and engineering teams to develop strategic centralized data platform architecture.
Reporting
- Help with existing reporting systems.
- Contribute to design and development of centralized Reporting Analytics capabilities.
SKILLS:
Technical Data Skills
- Expert level SQL skills
- Experienced with ETL, data mapping and transformation rules.
- Intermediate skills with Python and R and willingness to advance.
- Knowledge and understanding of data modeling, different data modeling technics, and data warehousing.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or similar RDBMS platform.
- Some exposure to Big Data technologies, Apache Spark, AWS, AWS S3, amazon Glue, cloud -based data architecture is preferred.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar platforms is desirable but not mandatory.
Data Governance Knowledge Skills
- Understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, data cataloging, CDE, metadata and data quality
- Ability to implement and enforce data governance standards.
- Experience with any Data Governance tool – such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica Axon DG, or Apache Atlas.
Communication Skills
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or data engineering
- 3-5 years of experience as a Data Analyst with exposure to data governance practices.
- Previous work experience in the banking or finance industry is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and quality.
- Curios and open to learning advanced data tools and technologies.
