Role & responsibilities:

• Lead data architects and data engineers 
• Align technology strategy to business strategy, to build massively scalable, reliable, highly available (99.999% uptime), and maintainable solutions, for on-premises, on cloud and hybrid architectures
• Provide technical expertise for change initiatives, working with solution architects, technical architects, and business product owners
• Work with IT and the Data Management Office to ensure requirements for data governance, quality, metadata management, mastering and security are delivered
• Build and maintain appropriate Enterprise Architecture artefacts including Entity Relationship Models, Data dictionary, taxonomy to aid data traceability
• Working with the wider Enterprise Architecture community to develop the target architecture

Candidate requirements:

• 10 years of experience in architecting, designing, and developing large scale data solutions utilizing a mixture of Big Data and Relational database platforms.
• Experience and expertise in the establishment and execution of roadmap and vision for information delivery and management, including the enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI & analytics, content management and data management
• Experience and expertise in data warehousing and data transformation (extract, transform and load) processes and the supporting technologies such as Amazon Glue, EMR, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks, Snowflake, StreamSets etc. 
• R&D experience, driving rapid prototyping and design for new projects and analytic environments
• Prior experience of leading and technically mentoring teams
• High degree of multiple relevant soft skills and competencies, including verbal and written communication skills, multi-tasking, context-switching in the face of changing priorities, problem-solving, troubleshooting, time management and suchlike
