THE PROJECT
Our client is a biotech company focused on early detection via in-vitro diagnostics, using computer and data science to obtain further understanding of cancer biology and develop early-detection blood tests.
THE ROLE
You will work with mathematical and statistical problems appearing in the early detection field, and create algorithms based in signal processing to target genomic features. Also, you will analyze and interpret analytical and clinical data related to early cancer detection and the identification of molecular features amongst different types of cancer. You will work with bioinformaticians, data scientists and software engineers to contribute into code, software and model improvement, in order to plan, scope and execute associated research.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creation of algorithms based in signal processing to tackle genomic features.
- Think about signal processing related problems and challenges in the field of early cancer detection.
- Investigate and experiment technological fields such as artificial and intelligence robotics.
- Analyze and interpret molecular, analytical and clinical data in order to identify molecular signatures across different types of cancer.
- Contribute into model and software improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
- MSc / equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Biomedical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Statistics or Applied Mathematics with a Signal Processing specialty.
- +3 years post-study experience applying signal processing algorithms for research and product development.
- Deep knowledge of signal processing fundamentals (e.g. EEG, ECG) is a plus.
- Proficiency working in Linux environment.
- Experience in the analysis of quantitative technologies in genomics, epigenomics, proteomics or transcriptomics (e.g. ATAT-seq, RNA-seq, Hi-C, MS) is a plus.
- Ability to generate production-ready code, version-controlled with Git.
- Excellence with computational and statistical programming with Python and R.
- Ability to work with Big Data.
- Attention to detail.
- Time management knowledge.
- Flexibility.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
