DATACENTER SYSTEM ARCHITECT / TECHNICAL LEAD
- Balanced hands-on / architect role
- Hierarchically reports to the Head of Corporate IT, functionally to the Infrastructure & Network Team leader
She/he is in charge of planning, managing and coordinating the activities related to the whole infrastructure area and its components. These components will range from Cloud Infrastructure to On-Premise infrastructure (Storage, Server, OS, Database, etc. and to a lesser extent networking).
The responsibilities of this role includes:
- Standardization of Data Center Management technologies and processes
- Development and support of strategic initiatives in the datacenter and cloud area
- Development of new services and technologies for the infrastructure management of cloud services in Data Center Management
The person would be also in charge of Demand Management (requirements gathering from the business through Regional IT Managers and Corporate colleagues), definition of the effort/budget needed and management of the working team, engagement of suppliers and internal groups (Corporate or Business), the entire implementation life cycle of IT infrastructure activities in the design phase, the transition into production (Design & Transition) and the following maintenance operations/activities.
In this role you will have the opportunity to work on multiple initiatives, IT environments and related technologies ranging from Cloud to Software-Defined Network, and be able to contribute strongly to the design of Interroll's future IT infrastructure. And most importantly you will be part of a team of experts willing to share knowledge and always willing to get acquainted with new, innovative ideas.
Activities:
- Work with the Infrastructure & Network team and other Corporate IT teams to design the implementation of complex IT infrastructure that aligns with business requirements;
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams so that project activities are delivered on budget and on time without compromising the quality of the solution;
- Interact with Corporate IT teams, Regional IT managers and business to gather demand and define budget;
- Interact with key vendors in the IT landscape to capture, within emerging technologies, any opportunities and propose the introduction of new solutions;
- Interact with own team and Application and Workplace teams in order to, by providing an overview and design, support the analysis on the impact that certain technical or technological choices may have;
- Understand the "high level" architecture of the solution to be implemented and be able to facilitate discussion between different teams during the design and planning phases;
- Manage the Project Portfolio and Delivery Plans for the infrastructure area;
- Ensure requirements are translated into technical specifications in line with company standards and project plans;
- Be responsible for the entire administrative component of project activities from tracking activities to drafting related documentation;
- Be able to manage risk by anticipating, managing and coordinating the resolution of any issues during the design phases;
- Coordinate with other technical teams to draft RFP/RFQs and ensure that the quality of the RFP/RFQ is met and that the RFP/RFQ is released on time.
- Ensure operations of services released
Requirements and Core Competencies:
- Previous experience as System Architect and in Demand, Design, Transition and Operation roles in ITIL environments (Event, Incident, Problem, Change, Release)
- Previous experience in managing Microsoft (Windows server, Azure) and Linux environments
- Excellent skills in Cloud environments: Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Excellent skills in managing Vmware virtualized environments
- Excellent skills in scripting languages like (Powershell needed, Python or Bash optional)
- Good/excellent networking skills, ideally with good knowledge of Fortinet products (firewall, switch and security)
- Excellent analysis and project management skills (design and project management)
- Excellent budgeting and cost controlling skills
- Expert knowledge of implementing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, …)
- Expert knowledge of Cybersecurity (concepts, standards, frameworks, …)
- Excellent knowledge of DB SQL Server (as Administrator)
- Good knowledge of Serverless and Containers Infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation (e.g. Terraform) and configuration management (e.g. Ansible)
