On behalf of our trusted client – a holding structure comprising companies of diverse scale and business activities (manufacturing, real estate, consulting services, etc.) – we are seeking a well-organized, responsible, and motivated professional for the position of Deputy Chief Accountant.
In this role, as the right hand to the Chief Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective management and performance of accounting and financial reporting processes across the group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Chief Accountant in managing the accounting activities of multiple entities within the holding structure
- Perform internal financial control and ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations
- Actively participate in the preparation of monthly, interim, and annual financial statements
- Prepare regular accounting reports and periodic financial analyses
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, Intrastat declarations, and statistical reports to relevant authorities (NSI, BNB)
- Prepare and submit declarations under the Local Taxes and Fees Act related to real estate assets
- Submit applications and obtain tax assessment certificates for real estate properties
- Record and process primary and secondary accounting documents
- Maintain and process cash transactions and related documentation
- Process payroll accounting and remuneration under civil contracts
- Maintain and manage fixed asset registers, including calculation of accounting and tax depreciation
- Participate in tax audits, inspections, and external audits
- Coordinate and participate in inventory counts
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders (auditors, institutions, etc.)
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure their proper implementation across the companies
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in accounting
- Experience in a manufacturing company or holding structure will be considered a strong advantage
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- Strong knowledge of Bulgarian accounting and tax legislation, as well as IFRS
- Experience with ERP systems and excellent command of MS Office
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle large volumes of data
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach
