JOB PURPOSE:

The position is responsible for the inventory management, warehousing, customer service and logistics activities associated with the Indian Distribution Center. The position will work to ensure that the company meets its sales, inventory and customer service goals. Manage inventory levels and operational expenses to stated departmental objectives. This position will act as the primary point of contact for the India Distribution Center. Requires cross functional relationship with Sales, Customer Service, Logistics/ Supply Chain and Finance to ensure that a proper forecast is in place that translates into having the right inventory. Provide management with information and local market intelligence and analysis to support the executive decision-making process.

 

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

• Complies with local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.

• Drive efficient processes to enhance warehouse operations

• Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.

• Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.

• Achieves financial objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

• Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.

• Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

• Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

• Drive the complete process of order to cash.

• Coach the customer service team to drive process of order processing and enhance customer satisfaction.

• Ensure collaboration of the customer service to commercial team to deliver objectives.

• Coordinate the import process by complying to customs and regulatory requirements.

• Actively advocate safety in all aspects of warehouse operations, adhering to company and site specific safety policies, practices, and programs

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Strong background in Logistics and Supply Chain Management preferably within a medical device manufacturing organization. In addition, the individual must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Experience with SAP order to cash process. Excellent spreadsheet modeling skills required.

• Excellent project management skills with experience creating new systems and processes are highly desirable.

• Ability to work cross functionally.

• Demonstrate leadership with internal departments and external partners to provide direction and meet established deadlines.

• Acts as a mentor for the warehouse and customer service team

• Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred

• 10 years related Business Experience

• Experience of managing large team and casual labour.

• Strong communication skills.
