I. Job General scope:
Our client is looking for Deputy Managing Director of Commercial, Greater China- Nano Technology – Advanced Materials
Our client, with around 70% of sales being in Asia, is strengthening its presence in the region.
Deputy Managing Director of Commercial should be armed with:
- High commercial intellect to accelerate business relations with existing clients
- Engagement leadership to guide the team of talented, highly motivated salespeople with strong industrial background, and to fine-tune business processes of local distributors and production partners
- Strategic vision to do a deep-dive in the market of advanced materials, prepare a game-changing sales plan, and make it happen, relying on capacities of the company’s state-of-the-art R&D and technical support center in Shanghai
The successful candidate will join a dynamic and international team, based in Shanghai, other offices are in Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
He/she will report to the Managing Director of Commercial for Greater China.
II. Main achievements/Missions/Objectives:
- Manage and lead the sales team with a key focus on battery applications.
- Manage a project pipeline of short, medium, and long-term opportunities spanning multiple states, project types, and markets.
- Work closely with key distributors and key accounts, develop the relations with high level management of key accounts.
- Lead the sales cycle, including deal origination, project development management, contract negotiation and closing a targeted product volume and/or revenue each year (quota bearing).
- Identify market trends and development opportunities for new product introductions, coordinate those effort with technical and R&D team.
- Provide reporting to management as and when required
III. Qualification requirements:
- Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Engineering degree
- 10-12 years minimum work experience in Li-ion battery market related positions in sales/marketing/product development.
- Experience in sales, business development, and/or other customer-facing roles
- Experience managing cross-functional projects in fast paced, dynamic settings
- Excellent communication skills- both internal and external facing.
- Working knowledge of battery technology and automotive industry
- Team leading experience not less than 2 years
- Deep passion for accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy
- Fluency in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to travel up to 60% of the time
