Role details:

• Title / Designation: Design Engineer (Transmission Line)
• Reporting Manager: Project Engineering Manager
• Location: Chennai
• Work Mode: Work from office (Visit site when required)

Role & responsibilities:

• Review and execute engineering activities for the complete design of transmission line towers, civil foundations, and associated structures.
• Collect and analyze technical inputs for design activities.
• Interpret technical specifications to identify relevant clauses for tower and foundation design.
• Prepare optimized and cost-effective designs for client approval.
• Ensure quantity control and optimization of civil and structural quantities.
• Collaborate with project execution teams to resolve design challenges.
• Witness and validate tower testing at different test beds.
• Develop BOQs and design documentation for pre-tender and post-award stages.
• Maintain ISO-compliant engineering documents.

Candidate requirements:

• 3–7 years of experience in designing and detailing transmission line towers and foundations.
• Proficiency in route selection, profile analysis, sag and tension charts, and structural design.
• Expertise in designing transmission line towers, foundations (pad, isolated, combined, pile), and gantry structures.
• Familiarity with Indian and international standards (BS, UBC, ACI, ASCE) for TL and foundation design.
• Ability to prepare stringing charts and select test load cases.
• Proficiency in PLSCADD, PLS Tower, STAAD Pro, Global Mapper, TLTSOFT, and AutoCAD.
• Strong skills in MS Office.
