As a DevOps Engineer at our dynamic startup, you are the cornerstone of our operational stability and technical progression. Your mission is to maintain, optimize, and innovate our systems to ensure uptime and efficiency. You will ensure our infrastructure aligns with business needs and complies with all cybersecurity regulations, particularly local data laws.

Key Responsibilities

• Sustain and manage day-to-day operations (BAU), ensuring all systems function within their SLAs.
• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to maintain operational excellence in code deployment.
• Proactively manage and optimize cloud services, with agility to adapt to potential changes in cloud partners.
• Liaise with the cybersecurity team to stay abreast of and comply with local data protection laws.
• Proficiently utilize tools like Firebase and Google Analytics for logging and operational insights.
• Compile and present daily operational reports to the Engineering Manager, highlighting performance metrics and potential risks.
• Maintain a risk register, actively identifying and mitigating risks to ensure continuous service delivery.
• Oversee hosting, server environments, and database management, ensuring optimal performance and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 3-5 years of DevOps experience, preferably in a startup environment.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with cloud services, containerization, and orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and scripting languages for automation and efficiency.
• Knowledge of Firebase, Google Analytics, and other analytics and logging tools to drive data-driven decision-making.
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining documentation, including daily reports and risk registers.
• Experience in server and hosting management with a solid understanding of network fundamentals.
• Adept at working within an Agile practice and using project management tools such as JIRA.

Reporting Line

You will provide regular updates and reports to the Engineering Manager, ensuring they are well-informed on the current status and any potential risks or issues.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong emphasis on attention to detail.
• Outstanding communication skills, with proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
• A proactive and adaptive approach to managing and improving infrastructure in a rapidly changing environment.
• In-depth understanding of local and international data laws to ensure compliance and data security.
