About Role & Responsibility:
My Client is seeking a Diesel Engine Development to join our team in Gurgaon,India. In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for :
• Leading and executing projects in Diesel Engine development process.
• Planning and execution of the engine and vehicle performance, emission development tasks.
• Understand and summarize the customer requirements and convert the requirements in to relevant test and development tasks.
• Understand and interpret relevant engine and vehicle performance and emission legislation.
• Approve of test and development program.
• Schedule tests, monitor progress and guide engineers
• Record deviations and implement corrections suggested by Skilled Team Leader
• Result analysis of tests
• Preparation of relevant test and development reports. Risk assessment and risk plan including for EH&S,
• Decision on Abnormalities in test, deviations in calibration of equipment, deficiencies in processes
• Convey information on deviations to project manager and sales
• Initiate corrective actions and monitor effectiveness of corrective actions
• Ensure preventive measures for known and potential troubles, incidents, risks
• Close project with report of what went wrong and what went right (learning for future)
• Standing in for the Project Manager when he is unavailable
Skills and Attributes and other requirement of this role:
• Comprehensive knowledge of diesel engine basics, components, friction, functioning, thermodynamic working cycles, efficiencies, performance parameters, auxiliary components
and influence of design parameters on the engine and exhaust aftertreatment performance.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of engine testing procedures for combustion / emission / performance development.
• Should be well conversant with the test bed operating system (Puma etc.) / emission systems, indicom and calibrating software and other test bed systems.
• Fuel injection systems (common rail) & Urea dosing systems.
• Basics of engine and vehicle calibration EMS functionalities
• Concepts of emission formation and influence of various engine parameters
• Exhaust after-treatment systems hardware characterization ( DOC, DPF, SCR )
• Understanding and ability to calibrate EMS systems (INCA, VISU, AT VISION,)
• Worldwide emission legislation, standard and limits
• Proven track record in academics.
• Analytical Approach
1D simulation tools usage would be added advantage.
• Strong verbal & written skills (English)
• Presentation skills and effective communication with customers is desired.
