Role details:

• Level: Director
• Location: Chennai

Role & Responsibilities:

• ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Collaborate with business to understand business road-map and to base-line and fine-tune architecture road-map requirements
• Develop business case / ROI-driven platform vision, strategy and road-map and socialise effectively with all relevant stakeholders – for choices across on-premise, cloud, offline, channels, devices / OS, form factors, etc.
• Define, decide and document platform architecture road-map choices, with detailed recommendations – addressing both functional and non-functional requirements (scale, security, performance, etc.), including – but not limited to:
  • PoCs / Pilots
  • Reusable components
  • Application frameworks
  • Integration mechanisms and models
  • Common services
  • Includes decisions on tech stacks, tools, processes and associated governance – including for automation / DevOps – CI / CD, etc.
• Work with business, platform delivery, technology R&D, release / infra / TechOps teams to position and, if required, fine-tune architecture and design decisions
• Continually improve and fine-tune the platform architecture, with stakeholder buy-in
• Help with the hiring of product development teams and with their continually mentoring and technically guiding them continually

Candidate requirements:

• ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​YOE: 14-18 years in technology architecture and design, including in Cloud-native architecture on AWS / Azure
• Certification and / or experience in one or more architecture frameworks like: ATAM (or equivalent Architecture Evaluation Methodologies), TOGAF , etc.
• Proven expertise in building low latency, high availability, high concurrency, transaction-heavy performant and secure products / platforms based on scalable microservices architecture and APIs, in a distributed environment
• Business technology acumen in advocacy of FOSS (free & open source software)
• Expertise in multiple architecture / design patterns and identifying and effectively applying them, based on the needs of the business
• Experience with and expertise in end-to-end application frameworks, across multiple deployment processes and models
• Depth of experience with:
  • Front-end JS frameworks, HTML / CSS
  • Node JS
  • SQL and NOSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Graph database, etc)
  • Data and Analytics architectures, data modelling and design
  • Integration and interfaces
  • Messaging and caching architectures
  • Multiple web application servers
  • Web application access standards and protocols like OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect and others
• Strong business communication, articulation and presentation skills
• Drive, self-motivation with ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as the situation demands
• Demonstrable thought leadership and industry presence by way of significant contributions via speaking in seminars / webinars, tech talks, white papers / PoV (points of view), townhalls, techno-blogs, industry journal articles and suchlike
