Hiring for Director – Product Engineering for one of the fastest growing SaaS product companies in the Content space

Role details:
- Title / Designation: Director of Engineering

Role & responsibilities:
- Own the product technical / engineering and delivery roadmap, collaborating with functional / business heads to translate from the product vision, strategy and roadmap
- Implement the engineering roadmap, across releases and challenging projects, with an eye for NFRs (non-functional requirements) like performance, scale, security, reliability, compliance, right from design and development stage
- Steer engineering design decisions and, where necessary, required trade-offs, with buy-ins from relevant stakeholders
- Establish processes, tools and technologies to achieve engineering excellence and innovation
- Sustain, expand and grow a high performant and result-oriented software engineering team, with focus on mentorship, guidance and career growth, driven by clear goal setting
- Create, improve and drive operational excellence, quality, security and privacy initiatives across the entire engineering team
Candidate requirements:
- BE / B Tech – mandatory
- 12 to 18 years of experience in software product companies, with the recent 5+ in leadership
- Hands-on experience in Python, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS
- Experience in ReactJS and Mongo DB – nice to have
- Hands on experience in leading large members teams
- Must have experience in API-first, AI-first, Mobile-first, Data-first & cloud-first world
- Strong B2C scaling experience for B2B2C products, scaling up to a billion users
- Strong technical and architecture design experience
- Clear understanding of the technical underpinnings of a SAAS products suite comprising CRM, chat, support tools, task managers, etc
- Experience in Agile methodologies, highly available, and distributed systems.
- Experience in multi-Product ecosystem and in video/AR, chatbots – good to have
- Good to have experience in integration engineering on a multi-platform architecture (web, cloud, mobile, Windows, MacOS, Salesforce, HubSpot, and GSuite)
- Demonstrable leadership qualities, competencies and attributes like clear goal setting, outcomes focus, navigating from ambiguity to clarity and from scratch to structure, execution bias, excellent verbal and written communication skills, agile thinking, quick learning, intellectual curiosity, outside-in assessment, excellent listening and presentation skills, entrepreneurial mindset, flexibility, collaborative ability to work across boundaries in an early-stage environment, grit / resilience to recover from mistakes and failures, and so on
