For a 5* resort in Puglia, we are looking for a:

Director of Events

Natural leader, with strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated capabilities in time management and coordination of the operational aspects of events, the director of events will be responsible for:
 

• Oversee the functions of Event Management, including the departments of Event Planning, Banquets/Catering and Event Service
• Supervise the execution of events.
• Review all function space with departmental managers.
• Ensure satisfaction of the client at the outset of all events.
• Set expectations and hold event management team accountable for desired service behaviours related to product and service delivery.
• Actively coach, manage and motivate the event management team
• Communicate a clear and consistent message regarding departmental goals to produce desired results.
• Identify key drivers of business success and keep team focused on the critical few to achieve results and communicate follow-up actions to team as necessary.
• Maintain knowledge of resort facilities, capacities and dimensions of meeting space and basic operational needs of all operating departments.
• Ensures meeting space are cleaned and maintained.
• Ensure furniture and equipment is maintained and inventory levels are kept in accordance to corporate standards and guidelines.
• Develops working relationships with outside vendors and establishes prices and service agreements to enhance the event experience and to increase additional revenue opportunities for the property.
• Make timely and impromptu decisions, which balance client’s needs with the financial, safety and staffing goals of the resort.
• Find solutions to the inevitable challenges and glitches that arise while groups are on property.
• Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with resort staff and clients

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Event Management in luxury hotels/resorts
• Significant experience in leading a team of professionals
• Excellent communication skills and a strong, innovative mindset
• A positive, motivated, and hands-on approach
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Fluent in English and Italian (written and spoken).
