Job Description
KEY Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the national strategy for the MidCorporate segment (50–250M RON turnover), in full alignment with the bank’s strategic objectives.
- Redesign and organize the corporate segment both centrally and across the network, including structure, operating model, commercial approach, and financial analysis methodologies.
- Lead the commercial strategy for the entire Corporate area, ensuring growth of the portfolio, strong market positioning, and integrated cross-sell across lending, payments, treasury, and other corporate products.
- Ensure a coherent, efficient, and customer-oriented servicing model tailored to MidCorporate clients, distinct from smaller business segments.
- Develop the organizational capabilities of the Corporate teams by defining competency frameworks and continuous training programs for RMs, financial analysts, and deal structuring teams.
- Actively participate in Credit Committees, ensuring sound risk judgement, responsible decision-making, and alignment with credit policies.
- Work closely with regional directors, RM teams, structured finance, credit analysis, and all relevant business lines to ensure unified execution and strong governance.
- Drive transformation initiatives focused on efficiency, simplification, and modernisation of commercial processes across the Corporate division.
- Serve as a cultural and strategic role model, strengthening collaboration between headquarters and the branch network.
IDEAL Profile
- Minimum 8 years of experience in leading teams, including at least 5 years in senior management roles within Corporate or Business Banking.
- Proven ability to define and execute commercial strategies for Corporate clients.
- Strong experience in portfolio management, direct client interaction, and handling complex corporate relationships.
- Solid understanding of financial analysis, internal rating models, credit risk assessment, and credit structuring.
- Previous participation in credit committees, with mature judgement and the ability to say “no” when necessary.
- Deep knowledge of the Romanian corporate market, competitive landscape, and client expectations.
- Excellent leadership and people-management capabilities; able to coordinate large, multi-layered teams with both direct and indirect reports (approx. 300 people).
- Exceptional relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills at executive level.
- A leadership style grounded in integrity, modesty, accountability, and real respect for entrepreneurs; someone who is strategic, but not arrogant or hierarchical.
- High resilience, strong work ethic, and willingness to travel frequently across the bank’s national network.
- University degree in Economics or related field; MBA or executive programs are a strong advantage.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
