Our client is a leading global animal genetics company which conducts research and development in the fields of genetics and biotechnology for breeding a better animal in terms of increased quality, production efficiency, and output. The worldwide presence is made through wholly-owned bovine businesses in 13 countries and through distributors in around 60 other countries.
Distribution Manager (Bovine) Scandinavia/Baltic states
Main tasks:
- Build relationships and undertake industry networking with key industry partners to maximise business growth opportunities and understand latest market trends;
- Listen to local customer needs and identify solutions by country;
- Develop the route to market - primarily by education on genetics, sales methodology and fertility to distributor employees, but also making changes in the route where appropriate;
- Identify and recruit additional routes to market – these can be distributors or bull studs;
- Own the supply chain process from the bull to customer’s cow in line with stakeholder deadlines;
- Work with the regional product manager to provide accurate quarterly product forecasts;
- Provide regular competitor product and pricing analysis;
- Build collaborative operational and strategic action plans with distributors, negotiate and deliver distribution agreements including financial and legal due diligence;
- Grow and retain genetics business through use of Genetic Services and technical analysis to engineer progress and validate performance;
- Report competitor activity as appropriate through informal communication and formal written monthly report.
Key requirements:
- Detailed knowledge of dairy/bovine genetics with extensive relevant industry experience;
- Proven ability to seek out sales opportunities and make decisions that appropriately balance short/long term expectations;
- Advanced English is a necessity, at least one language in the region is expected, Russian is a plus;
- Willingness to learn and adapt skills and knowledge appropriate to role, including information technologies;
- Excellent communication and influencing skills and the ability to work under their own initiative and with minimal supervision;
- Current valid driving licence;
- Strong financial acumen, excellent organisation and prioritisation skills;
- Demonstrable ‘can do’ attitude.
