Purpose:
The aim of the role of the District Manager is to establish and maintain good relations with pharmacies, distributors, opinion leaders, managers of hospitals in the area of responsibility in order to improve the recognition of products and company's image. Ensures that the assigned area is fully covered by a highly engaged and efficient team of Medical Representatives. Ensures continuous development of his team's performance, responsible for the achievement of the budget in terms of sales, market share and profitability in the assigned area. District Manager will represent the company embodying its core values, always acting at the highest standard of integrity, in adherence to the company Code of Conduct and in compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Verify the efficacy of visit plans with customer target groups and frequency of visits of each Medical Representative
- Ensure that the level of visits per day and the customer mix is appropriate
- Analyse (performance) results of the Medical Representatives and their development
- Assess and control the Medical Representatives’ activities through double visits (double visits shall make at least 80% of working days spent in field), provide recommendations to superiors of corrective actions or improvements, which have to be taken to meet company standards).
- Train the Medical Representatives during double visits in order to achieve promotional activities and to share best practices.
- Assure a correct use of promotional materials and gadgets of each Medical Representative
- Verify that all the activities of the Medical Representatives are in line with the overall requirements of the Company and its strategy, tactics and promotion plan
- Organize and carry out promotional meetings, seminars and other events for doctors and other customers
- Develop promotional plans for Medical Representatives in co-operation with Business Area Manager, Marketing Manager and National Sales Manager
- Motivate the Medical Representatives by using appropriate monetary (according to the bonus system) and non-monetary incentives, and stimulating their curiosity for the competitors’ activities as well as market and customers analysis
- Evaluate the performance of the Medical Representatives and provides recommendations of corrective actions
- Co-operate closely with the training department to develop the team
- Analyse the information given by the Medical Representatives to enable the superiors to be fully aware of his performance, competitors activities and pharmaceutical market situation
- Cooperate, closely Communicate and coordinate of all promotional activities with Product Manager, Sales Manager and Medical Manager, including promotional activities for new product launch.
- Monitor the distribution network in collaboration with National Sales Manager
- Follow company procedures and requirements, e.g. in terms of car usage by Medical Representatives
- Ensure that Corporate and Company guidelines, strategies and policies are observed, e.g. car policy
- Ensure that all MRs’ activities (requested and spontaneous) are in accordance with Ethical codes and National laws, and complies with all regulations as e.g., the Ethics & Integrity policies
- Fill vacant positions in the assigned FF team immediately, making primary selection of possible candidates to Medical Representative's position and presenting them for approval to superiors.
Company Procedures and Follow up Process:
- Comply with the data integrity policy and commitment.
- Monitoring and analyzing the processes and ensuring that the necessary actions are taken for improvement.
- Maintaining, backing up and archiving (or ensuring that they are made) all records under her/his responsibility as determined and destroying the records under his/her responsibility as determined when the retention period expires.
- Fulfilling and implementing responsibilities mentioned in all procedures of the company.
The process is managed in accordance with Company Procedures; s/he is responsible for ensuring that the activities of the inputs and outputs are correct, the resources are sufficient, the process is monitored, the records are kept, the performance is measured and, when necessary, reporting on these issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Education Level: Bachelor degree in Pharmacy, Medicine or Veterinary Medicine
- Work Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience as a District manager within a market leading pharmaceutical company.
- Experience in East Cairo and in Cardiovascular TA is preferrable.
- Fluent in English
- Having an active driving license
