MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES     

• Assessment and stabilization of patients with acute psychiatric emergencies: These emergencies may include suicidal ideation, aggressive behavior, or psychotic episodes.
• Assess the patient's risk, provide immediate intervention, and determine the appropriate level of care.
• Collaboration with psychiatric and rehabilitation specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients.
• Management of medical emergencies in patients with complex medical and psychiatric conditions: Patients in psychiatry and rehabilitation hospitals often have co-occurring medical conditions that require emergency care. The emergency physician must have a thorough understanding of these conditions and how they interact with psychiatric symptoms.
• Educating patients and families about psychiatric conditions, treatment options, and resources for ongoing care.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to improve overall care delivery.
• Implement and adhere to evidence-based medical practices.
• Contribute to decision-making processes related to patient care and departmental policies.
• Pursue continuous professional development and stay abreast of advancements in the medical field.
• Advocate for patient rights and welfare.
• Ensure a patient-centered approach in medical care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
• Lead and participate in emergency medical responses.
• Provide expertise in critical and urgent medical situations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education :

• Graduate from a medical school of good standing.
• Completion of required period of training in Emergency Medicine and/or Subspecialty.
• A certificate recognized by the Saudi Commission is a must
• Dataflow is a must.
• Proven experience in Psychiarty & Rehabilitation Emergency centers

Professional Experience

• 0-2 years experience after certification.
• A registered member of the Saudi Board Council is preferable

Language

• Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Arabic may be beneficial.
