A one-of-a-kind research knowledge management platform for academic content (think of it like Google Docs for researchers, and much more). It helps researchers and academicians to write, review, typeset, publish and host scholarly content, all from a single platform. They also see making a mark in the book publishing industry in a very disruptive manner by leveraging modern cutting-edge technologies.

Role Details:

• Title / Designation: Engineering Manager
• Reporting to: Business Head
• Location: Chennai

Roles & responsibilities:

• Guide a team of 10-15 to perform design of existing and new products, to adhere to architectural, to define product test automation strategies. 
• Understand product vision and business needs to guide the team to define product architectural solutions and develop broad knowledge about current and future product features.
• Work with domain, product management and guide engineering teams in the solution engineering efforts.
• Own, create, maintain and execute on Release roadmaps aligned tightly with the Product roadmaps, with a carefully thought through judicious mix of new features, minor enhancements, bug fixes, tech debt repayment and non-functional requirements.
• Work with Product Manager in planning and execution of new product releases, pre-sales and product management teams in solution demonstrations and Managing relationships with stakeholders.
• Facilitate the creation, review, and sign off of project deliverables.
• Provide support for production escalations and problem resolution for customers.
• Periodically review the team skill level and plan for appropriate training working with Competency team. Need to identify the right skill from the market, if required.

Candidate requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)
• 10+ years of hands-on development experience with latest web technologies
• 3+ years of engineering leadership experience
• Strong in web-based system design and architecture
• Well versed in SOLID, DRY principles, Object Oriented Design, various design patterns, data structures and algorithms
• Strong experience in server-side technologies (such as Java and Spring Boots/PHP/Node.js, MySQL) and frontend technologies (such as React.js)
• Well versed with agile mindset and have knowledge on how to implement them.
