Job Description
Key Objectives:
- Lead engineering operations with a focus on document control, product data accuracy, and compliance.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership in engineering tasks such as design reviews and prototyping.
- Scale and structure the engineering team to support growth and technical excellence.
- Implement lean processes to drive performance improvement across sites.
- Build a culture of continuous improvement and strong technical collaboration.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and guide a multi-disciplined team of documentation specialists, technicians, and engineers across functions.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to internal customers and cross-functional project teams.
- Lead recruitment, staffing, and performance management processes to ensure adequate and skilled resources are available.
- Apply strong project management skills to plan, organize, and oversee work execution to meet project and business goals.
- Provide hands-on support in technical projects including design reviews, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
- Ensure accurate and compliant document control procedures, including archiving, permissions, version control, and change management.
- Stay current on standards governing document control and quality management systems; apply new technology to enhance compliance.
- Oversee the review and approval of engineering changes affecting drawings, BOMs, routers, and other controlled documents.
- Ensure ERP/MRP systems accurately reflect design intent and that workflows support timely and accurate data exchange.
- Manage and optimize system licenses, tools, and IT interfaces relevant to document control and engineering operations.
- Develop and disseminate engineering standards, policies, and procedures across all sites.
- Implement lean methodologies and lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Develop and monitor KPIs for team performance, compliance, and project outcomes.
- Lead engineering procurement coordination and support external design collaborations as needed.
- Represent and drive the vision of engineering excellence across the business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 7+ years of engineering experience in product development.
- 5+ years of experience in document control.
- 3–5 years in a leadership or management role within an engineering setting.
- Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or project management are a plus.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP, PDM, and CRM systems.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD modeling tools and GD&T.
- Professional fluency in English; other languages a plus for collaboration across global sites.
