Our client is a growing local insurer who is looking for just such a fit to help them grow their Engineering Underwriter Management division.   You will use your market and underwriting knowledge and experience to add value by growing a relatively new division within the company.  Your responsibilities will include underwriting, getting new broker business on board, and providing them with excellent technical and business support, facultative reinsurance renewals, and risk analysis of the new business.

Your Civil Engineering degree would be of great advantage, but you must at least be FAIS compliant with an RE5 or RE1 certificate.  Additionally, this role requires you to have Engineering marketing and underwriting experience, and be well experienced in the various related classes of insurance i.e. EAR, CAR, etc.  This will allow you to also be the technically proficient adviser needed to be successful in this role.

The salary on offer for this role is quite flexible and will depend on the individual’s value they can bring.  It is, therefore, open for discussion at this point.
