JOB PURPOSE:
To ensure a culture of health and safety.
PRIMARY JOB ACCOUNTABILITY :
1. Meeting ARGUS Objectives and deadlines(including yearly and monthly targets).
2. Formulate Policies and Procedure and their compliance with the relevant regulations :
- Developing and Implementation of systems for EHS Management as per ISO 14001 & OHSAS 180001 Standards.
- Implementation of Disaster Management Plan (onsite emergency plan)
- Provide advice and relevant support to the organization in relation to any changes(including recommendation in Health and safety legislation)
- Plan and conduct Environment Impacts & Aspect Assessments for Departments & Plants.
3. Conduct Risk Assessment
- Conduct workplace risk/exposure assessments for various classes of hazards.
- Preparation of incident/accident report and maintain the incident / accident register.
- Conducting Risk assessment of all the ongoing projects/installation.
- Initiating/suggesting measures to eliminate the risk.
4. Training & Development
- Preparing the contents of the safety training.
- Toolbox talks & Safety talks with the employees in the Shop Floor & offices.
- Planning and executing activities in coordination with HR on various safety aspects.
- Usage of PPEs(understanding & awareness)
- Induction Training of new employees on EHS
- Organizing Health Surveillance program for employees working in hazard areas.
1. Liaising with Government officials
- Liaising with local authorities like CPCC.
- Produce reports for various governance committees, including the organizational safety committee ,Quality & Governance committee.
- Renewal of Licenses and Consent to Operate for the factory from State Pollution Control Committee.
2. Preparing safety database and conducting frequent safety inspections
- Responsible for recording the results on the organization’s Health and Safety Risk Assessment Database.
- Carrying out investigation in case of any accident/incident .
- Analyze and report to the management in relations to accident and incident.
- Respond to any safety complaints and concerns raised by the employees
3. Execution of Safety Audits
- Periodically inspecting, auditing, and reviewing safe work practices to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies
- Carry out site inspections and provide advice to managers with corrective actions.
4. Procurement, installation & maintenance of fire extinguishers, fire hydrant, smoke sensors & fire alarm system.
5. Manage emergency procedure.
