• Familiar with steel fabrication processes and construction techniques, including welding and constructability.
• Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex design documents and specifications.
• Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective team player.
• Proficiency in Excel and preliminary connection design.

Responsibilities:

• Produce cost estimates and proposals for structural steel bid projects and change orders.
• Develop and monitor plans for material and labor take-offs from structural and architectural drawings.
• Lead complex projects and function as the estimate team leader.
• Review and verify the completeness of project drawings and specifications, distributing them to assigned estimators.
• Maintain and manage subcontractor/supplier relationships.
• Obtain pricing for specialty items not in the estimating software database.
• Generate estimate summaries and cost recap sheets in Excel.
• Develop preliminary connection designs based on member capacities and provided loads.
• Collaborate with the Production Department to review and update estimating standards.
• Work overtime as needed to meet bid deadlines.
