Job Title: Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer, Nigeria

Job Purpose:
The Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer, would be accountable for optimal functioning of the business operational initiatives, including but not limited to the client servicing operating model and the back-office operations on behalf of the Company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective support to MD/CEO and the board in defining the strategic direction and focus of the company.
- Annually design, implement, and manage Underwriting, Claims and Reinsurance philosophies, guidelines, and approval thresholds.
- Oversee the delivery of projected Underwriting, Claims and Reinsurance performance results.
- Drive technical and operational excellence in line with industry standards and regulation and ensure consistent quality service delivery.
- Provide direct oversight for day-to-day insurance policy administration, claims management, and process improvement.
- Ensure the growth of the company's life insurance portfolio through the implementation of best insurance practices.
- Implement new digital technologies to achieve operational and technical excellence for the business.
- Executive decisions on technological requirements on behalf of the company and drive profitability through technology adoption.
- Ensure a seamless end-to-end digital experience for customers in accessing the company's products and services.
- Design and launch products that meet customer requirements and fulfil the financial objectives of the company.
- Develop and manage a robust actuarial function for the company.
- Oversee the actuarial function as it relates to monitoring and review of the company’s products’ pricing, computation of technical reserves, ALM, etc.
- Ensure consistency of quality service delivery
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Education:
- Minimum requirement: A Bachelors’ degree from a reputable University in any relevant discipline
- Added advantage: MSc or MBA.
Experience
- Minimum requirement: 15 years’ cognate experience
- Added Advantage: Minimum of 7 years’ multi-faceted experience in a management role.
Professional (Memberships & Certifications)
Minimum requirement: Membership of any relevant professional body (e.g., CIIN, ICAN, etc.)
