As the Executive for Legal, Compliance, and Governance, you will lead our Legal and Compliance teams, ensuring excellent service delivery to our employees, members, and the broader National Payments System (NPS).
You will be an integral member of our Executive Committee (ExCo), driving strategic decision-making and fostering a high-performance culture. Your role includes establishing good corporate governance principles, managing compliance, and overseeing the development of governance structures for the Payments Industry Body (PIB).
Requirements:
- Admitted attorney with relevant academic qualifications
- Company Secretariate qualification preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of company secretary experience
- Proficiency in managing legal and compliance functions
- Experience in dispute resolution, restructuring, or corporate transactions advantageous
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to Councillors and ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Support Councillor induction and training
- Facilitate effective communication with the Chairperson and Councillors
- Schedule and prepare for Council and Committee meetings
- Manage compliance, including membership applications and enforcement
- Provide legal counsel and maintain legal documentation
- Drive governance, policy, and culture change
- Ensure stakeholder needs are met and maintain compliance frameworks
