Job Description
For a luxury Resort in Venice we are looking for a
Food & Beverage Director
Core responsibilities:
- Develops, implements and monitors schedules for the operation of all restaurants and bars to achieve a profitable result
- Implements effective control of food, beverage and labor costs among all sub-departments
- Assists the area managers in establishing and achieving predetermined profit objectives and desired standards of quality food, service, cleanliness, merchandising and promotion.
- Identifies areas of concern and develops strategies to improve the department’s financial performance.
- Develops and manages Food and Beverage budget, reviews financial reports and statements to determine how Food and Beverage is performing against budget.
- Determines pricing based on projected sales volume and costs, including food costs, labor costs, overhead costs, and profit margins.
- Estimates cost and benefit ratio, maintaining balance between profit and service satisfaction.
- Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, encourage others, serving as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
- Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.
- Shares plans to take corrective action based on comment cards and guest satisfaction results with property leadership.
- Provides guidance and direction to team members, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
- Coaches and supports food & beverage leadership team to effectively manage wages, food & beverage cost and controllable expenses (e.g., restaurant supplies, uniforms, etc.).
- Sets goals and expectations for direct reports using the performance review process and holds staff accountable for successful performance.
- Estimates food, liquor, wine, and other beverage consumption in order to anticipate amounts to be purchased or requisitioned.
- Orders and purchase equipment and supplies.
Job Requirements:
- Current or previous experience working as Food & Beverage Director or as Food & Beverage Assistant Director role with strong focus to customer service, in a 5-star hotel or similar hospitality industry
- Complete knowledge of tools to track Food Costing
- Fluent English and Italian
- A proven track record of successfully leading people
- High level customer service ambassador
- Strong communications skills and guest-oriented attitude
