For a luxury Resort in Venice we are looking for a

Food & Beverage Director

Core responsibilities:

• Develops, implements and monitors schedules for the operation of all restaurants and bars to achieve a profitable result
• Implements effective control of food, beverage and labor costs among all sub-departments
• Assists the area managers in establishing and achieving predetermined profit objectives and desired standards of quality food, service, cleanliness, merchandising and promotion.
• Identifies areas of concern and develops strategies to improve the department’s financial performance.
• Develops and manages Food and Beverage budget, reviews financial reports and statements to determine how Food and Beverage is performing against budget.
• Determines pricing based on projected sales volume and costs, including food costs, labor costs, overhead costs, and profit margins.
• Estimates cost and benefit ratio, maintaining balance between profit and service satisfaction.
• Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, encourage others, serving as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
• Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.
• Shares plans to take corrective action based on comment cards and guest satisfaction results with property leadership.
• Provides guidance and direction to team members, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
• Coaches and supports food & beverage leadership team to effectively manage wages, food & beverage cost and controllable expenses (e.g., restaurant supplies, uniforms, etc.).
• Sets goals and expectations for direct reports using the performance review process and holds staff accountable for successful performance.
• Estimates food, liquor, wine, and other beverage consumption in order to anticipate amounts to be purchased or requisitioned.
• Orders and purchase equipment and supplies.

Job Requirements:

• Current or previous experience working as Food & Beverage Director or as Food & Beverage Assistant Director role with strong focus to customer service, in a 5-star hotel or similar hospitality industry
• Complete knowledge of tools to track Food Costing
• Fluent English and Italian
• A proven track record of successfully leading people
• High level customer service ambassador
• Strong communications skills and guest-oriented attitude
