Job Description – Head Finance / Finance Controller

Paranjape Autocast Pvt. Ltd. is a reputed auto component manufacturing company with over 50 years of manufacturing excellence. The organization operates 8 manufacturing plants across three locations in Satara district, with a Corporate Office in Kothrud, Pune.
The company supplies a wide range of components to leading OEMs across 2W, 3W, MHCV, and industrial segments such as hydraulics, braking systems, and diesel engines. Key customers include Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, HMSI, TVS Motors, Royal Enfield, Suzuki, Piaggio, ZF CV CS, Danfoss, Sundaram Fasteners, Faster Hydraulics, and others.
Paranjape Autocast employs over 1,400 people and reported a turnover of approximately ₹700 Crores in FY 2024–25, with strong growth momentum and an expected turnover of ₹800 Crores in FY 2025–26.
Position Overview
As part of its ongoing expansion, Paranjape Autocast seeks to appoint a Head – Finance / Finance Controller, who will function as the chief finance leader of the organization. In the absence of a parallel CFO position, this role will have end-to-end ownership of the finance function and will work closely with the Promoter / Owner family and senior plant leadership.
The position is based at the Corporate Office, Kothrud, Pune.
Scope of Responsibility
The Head – Finance will oversee:
- Accounts & Finance
- Profitability & Cost Management
- Internal Audit
- Direct & Indirect Taxation
- Finance-related Legal Compliance
- IT Systems (Hardware & Software)
Key Responsibilities
1. Finance, Accounts & Internal Audit
- Prepare, analyse, and present monthly plant-wise Profit & Loss statements and quarterly Balance Sheets.
- Drive profitability improvement through cost reduction, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Review product-wise profitability and internally support price revision discussions, especially for low or negative margin products (SAP-based costing).
- Ensure that internal audit observations result in tangible system and process improvements.
- Strengthen financial controls, reporting discipline, and governance standards.
- Oversee maintenance and enhancement of IT systems, including SAP and other financial / enterprise software and hardware.
2. Legal & Statutory Compliance
- Hold primary responsibility for finance-related legal compliance, including:
- Direct Taxation
- Indirect Taxation (GST)
- Companies Act compliance
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and legal advisors.
- Provide supporting oversight for employee and factory-related legal compliances in collaboration with HR and plant leadership.
3. Leadership, Values & Stakeholder Engagement
- Uphold the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and ethical conduct.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to senior management and plant leadership, actively participating in financial, cost, and performance-related decision-making.
- Drive finance and cost initiatives through collaboration rather than control, ensuring strong alignment with operational teams.
4. Talent Management & Succession Planning
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing finance team with the right mix of capability and experience.
- Identify high-potential and high-performing team members and support their development.
- Enable job rotation and cross-functional exposure.
- Lead succession planning for critical finance roles.
5. Non-Core / Limited Exposure Areas
- Activities related to IPO, listing, SEBI compliance, private equity fund raising, debt consortium management, and complex M&A transactions are negligible or close to nil.
- Exposure to complex taxation structures or exceptional corporate actions is expected to be minimal.
Candidate Profile
- Age: 45–50 years
- Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (ICMA)
- Experience:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing / auto component / engineering organizations, preferably in small to mid-sized, family-managed companies
- Strong hands-on exposure to plant finance, costing, audits, compliance, and systems
