The Financial Manager oversees all financial operations, reporting, and planning for the retail business. This includes managing accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, cash flow, risk management, and regulatory compliance. The Financial Manager works closely with the management team to drive profitable business growth while maintaining financial controls and safeguarding assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, month-end close, financial reporting, and regulatory filings for all dealerships.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, management reports, and operational metrics.
- Develop and monitor annual operating budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with business objectives.
- Analyse financial performance, identify trends and provide insights to optimise revenue and profitability.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, investment of surplus funds, and financing activities.
- Establish and enforce financial policies, controls, and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
- Oversee audits and tax filings in coordination with external CPAs and consultants.
- Contribute financial perspectives and decision support for key strategic initiatives.
- Manage dealer financing relationships, floor plan lines, and working capital.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field: CPA is preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive financial management experience.
- Must have automotive retail experience.
- Expert knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Strong skills with financial systems, databases, reporting tools, and MS Office.
- Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills to interact with executives and present financial data.
- Solid ethics, integrity, and commitment to financial controls and compliance.
