Position Title: Procurement Analyst
Business Unit/ Department/Section: Import Procurement
Reports to: Supply Chain Head
Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Position Purpose:
The Procurement Analyst is responsible for gathering, interpreting, and using complex data to develop actionable steps that will improve processes and optimize results.
Additionally, he or she will assess company and client needs, receive robust information, and analyse it, looking for tell-tale trends or areas for improvement. Additionally, the incumbent will be tasked with collaborating with financial reporting, procurement and IT teams to develop initiatives and strategies that optimize costs and improve internal and external reporting.
In addition to performing financial and operational modelling, the Procurement analyst is expected to develop new models that underpin sound business decisions.
The role calls for a strong experience in forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis combined with understanding of key performance indicators.
Responsibilities:
- Manage various procurement projects that include the areas of purchasing, contracting, sourcing, and commodity management.
- Understand business objectives so as to generate information, action items, schedule, and deliverables for the team.
- Assist team in procurement related activities as needed.
- Work with Cost Price Analysis to formulate negotiation plans.
- Develop innovative approaches to review procurement process effectiveness
- Provide recommendations on all procurement related issues, plans, reports, trainings and metrics.
- Provide education and training to internal staff on procurement policies and best practices.
- Analyze industry trends and market competitions to develop business improvement initiatives.
- Support and maintain the policies, procedures, and quality process.
- Provide a return on investment and a contribution to profitability.
- Work with the procurement team regarding discrepancies or inconsistencies with the customer and supplier
- Provide feedback & analysis to facilitate decision-making

- Participate in gathering data for supplier measurement.
- Check order confirmations for accuracy and compliance with order requirements. Resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion.
- Consistently work to be aware of market trends and outside influences that may impact purchases.
- Special projects and/or reports as needed (pricing comparisons, trending information, capabilities, supplier performance comparisons, etc.)
- Work actively to eliminate waste and improve material and information flow via process improvement. This can include reviewing daily cost accounting to locate purchasing-related waste.
- With support of management, resolve pricing/billing discrepancies with our suppliers.
- Review orders to actively identify issues or trends.
- Supply objective and subjective feedback to management for use in negotiations.
- Recommend solutions to sourcing problems.
- Make recommendations on best place to purchase based on pricing, quality, delivery and lead-times.
- Analyze pricing agreements to determine optimum supply chain
- Collaborate with IT or create reports or tools to improve efficiency or decision making.
- Recommend revisions to procedures/work instructions to improve efficiency.
- Assist in training new hires as needed.
- Work with Operations to ensure product received is what was ordered in terms of quality, specifications, quantity,
- Work with suppliers to prioritize production and shipment of our orders as needed to meet customer requirements.
- Investigate and suggest alternatives when late deliveries from suppliers are unavoidable.
Qualifications:
- Proficient with SAP Material Management Module
- Strong analytical abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong mathematical skills and comfort level when using calculations
- Ability to handle several urgent matters simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to cultivate strong relationships with our suppliers
- Ability to work in a team environment

Experience:
Experience: 7-9 years’ experience in supply chain or purchasing, or comparable experience as an analyst.
