Required:

• Broad electronics design experience in digital design techniques with a focus on FPGA technologies including FPGA design in VHDL and FPGA test bench design (Questa/Modelsim).
• Able to obtain UK Security Clearance, as well as a full UK driving license.

Parkside Recruitment are looking for a firmware engineer to supply products and systems to the Defence Industry.

Role:

As a firmware engineer, you will be working within a team of skilled design engineers.

Duties:

• Proven experience in translating system requirements to innovative FPGA design solutions, within project timescales and budgets.
• Be responsible for the detailed design of FPGA solutions to meet requirements.
• Work within other internal design disciplines, and external suppliers, to develop successful design solutions.
• Systems integration of solutions, including fault finding.
• Be able to prepare high-quality documentation relevant to the development life cycle and configuration in relation to company procedures.
• Assisting and liaising with other project teams relating to firmware aspects of products and systems.
• Comply with all health and safety requirements and practices operated by the company.

Essential qualifications and experience:

• A broad electronics design experience, in digital design techniques with a focus on FPGA technologies including FPGA design in VHDL, and FPGA test bench design (Questa/Modelsim).
• Recent experience of FPGA tools (Vivado/Quartus).
• Experience of Lab Test Equipment.
• BE able to multi-task and prioritise workload.
• Problem solving.
• Be familiar with Microsoft Office products.
• Able to obtain a UK Security Clearance.

Also desirable:

• Previous experience working with MOD customers and equipment test standards.
• Degree educated or equivalent qualification.
• DSP experience.
• SoC experience.
