Job Description
Fleet Procurement professional will be responsible for managing the acquisition of vehicles for corporate or commercial fleets.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and establish relationships with vehicle manufacturers, dealerships, and leasing companies to procure vehicles at competitive rates.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favourable contracts for fleet purchases.
- Develop and manage budgets for fleet procurement, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial targets.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine the appropriate types and quantities of vehicles needed for the fleet, considering factors such as usage requirements, budget constraints, and environmental considerations.
- Ensure that procured vehicles meet quality and safety standards, conducting inspections and testing as necessary.
- Stay abreast of relevant regulations and compliance standards related to vehicle procurement, ensuring adherence to legal requirements.
- Oversee inventory levels and vehicle allocation to meet operational needs while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.
- Manage contracts with suppliers, monitor performance, and address any issues or discrepancies that arise.
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends, optimize purchasing strategies, and drive continuous improvement in fleet procurement processes.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with fleet procurement, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and warranty issues.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, finance, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management) may be preferred.
- Previous experience in procurement, preferably in the automotive industry or fleet management. Experience with vendor negotiations, contract management, and budgeting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of automotive industry trends, vehicle technologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in data analysis and financial modelling to support decision-making and cost optimization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate favourable terms and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings and value for the organization.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in contract management, quality assurance, and compliance activities.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address procurement challenges and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including fleet operations, finance, and legal departments, to achieve shared objectives.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, market conditions, and organizational needs in a dynamic business environment.
