Job Purpose:

The Head of Water Business (General Manager Level) will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operations of the water business, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic growth. The ideal candidate must have hands-on Plant Management experience and a proven track record in water supply and distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth, operational efficiency, and profitability of the water operations.
• Operations Management: Oversee the entire water production, treatment, and distribution process, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery to clients.
• Plant Management: Provide hands-on leadership in plant operations, maintenance, and process optimization to enhance efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with national and industry regulations related to water production, distribution, safety, and environmental standards.
• Financial Performance: Develop budgets, monitor financial performance, and drive cost-effective strategies to improve revenue generation.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, corporate clients, and internal stakeholders to enhance business operations.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Business Expansion: Identify and capitalize on opportunities for business growth, including expansion into new industrial zones and markets.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Water Resources, or related field), Business Administration, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the water supply industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Proven Plant Management experience, with expertise in water treatment, distribution, and plant operations.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks governing water supply and distribution.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale infrastructure projects and drive operational efficiency.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting, financial planning, and cost control.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in business development and contract negotiations within the utilities or water sector.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies in water management and sustainability.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
