The role

The Technical Service Specialist would reach customers directly and through partners, making available a range of advanced breeding strategies for them in dairy production. This will include the delivery of genetic audits and trainings to the local teams responsible for dairy consultancy and sales. This role will contribute to both internal and external research programmes alongside the development of new applied tools. This is an industry leadership role providing the delivery of best practice in applied dairy breeding genetic principles within a large territory.

Since this is a subject matter expert position, there is the opportunity to shape the role and put your own mark on delivery moving forward.

Main tasks:

1. Delivery of genetic consultancy direct to producers, large accounts relationship management;
2. Providing strategic genetic leadership across EMEA Genetic Services as a subject matter expert;
3. Development and delivery of training to local teams across all aspects of genetic principles in dairy breeding within the region (main markets: UK, France, Poland, Spain, Italy, Northern Ireland, South Africa);
4. Project management of applied dairy breeding implementation programmes across the division;
5. Industry engagement, including strategy development with general managers and distribution managers;
6. Contribution to research programmes and tool development/maintenance.

Requirements

1. Msc or Phd in animal genetics;
2. Detailed knowledge of Dairy Genetics with extensive relevant industry experience;
3. Fluent English and at least one more language related to the territory;
4. Ability to travel;
5. Valid driver’s license;
6. Experience of working in the dairy industry is advantageous.
