Global Data Privacy Manager (Maternity Cover) 12 month contract

Are you a qualified lawyer with a passion for global data privacy? I am seeking a Global Data Privacy Manager/Commercial Lawyer to join our team as maternity cover. Based in London, you'll work closely with the Director Senior Counsel - International, contributing to our global data privacy governance program and providing valuable legal advice.
**Responsibilities:**
- Collaborate with the Director Senior Counsel of International to build awareness of our global data privacy governance program.
- Offer in-house legal advice on various global data privacy matters and data sharing initiatives across different regions.
- Draft, negotiate, and review commercial agreements, including those related to e-commerce, software licensing, and consultancy, with a focus on data privacy clauses.
- Create and advise on data protection agreements, such as data processing agreements, data transfer agreements, and privacy impact assessments.
- Update and maintain data privacy policies, guidelines, procedures, and oversee privacy training.
- Ensure personal data processing records are accurately captured and documented in our central data privacy compliance tool.
- Coordinate and manage data subject requests and data breach incidents.
- Keep a close eye on legal developments and provide analysis to key business stakeholders globally, including at a Corporate Compliance and Governance Committee.
- Support data privacy custodians across the business, legal counsel, internal audit, and other stakeholders.
**Qualifications:**
- University Degree in Law or equivalent.
- Qualified lawyer with significant experience in data privacy, ideally gained in-house.
- Experience reviewing and advising on commercial contracts is essential.
- Previous experience in the retail/manufacturing sector is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

**Work Environment/Physical Requirements:**
- Office based in Uxbridge, London, with convenient access to public transport or provided parking. Candidates will need to be local to come into the office
- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be UK-based.
- Hybrid working, with at least 3 days per week in the office and flexibility to attend the office as required during working hours.
- International travel may be required
