Job Description
Job Title: Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO)
Industry Banking

Salary: Excellent Package + Salary
Purpose(s) of the role:
- Collaborate with respective Business Unit leaders in setting and driving organisational vision, operations strategy, and hiring levels
- Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning
- Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met
- Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention
- Ensure compliance with national and local business regulations, and take appropriate action when necessary
Key Performance Areas
- Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with CEO
- Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement
- Set/oversee the achievement of goals for business growth and success
- Establish/oversee policies and procedures that promote company culture and vision
- Oversee daily operations and the work of Executives
- Reporting
- Take the lead in expansion activities
- Maintain/oversee / manage relationships with business partners – this could be applicable for the purpose of SLA implementation
- Oversee business expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.)
- Oversee operations, HR, and accounting, and partner with relevant business units so that sufficient investment capital can be budgeted for near-term growth targets
- Monitor business performance, capital investments and expenses to ensure that the company achieves investor targets for growth and profitability, and to take/prompt corrective measures when necessary, and prepare detailed updates and forecasts
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Assessing and implementing improved processes and new technologies and collaborating with management regarding the implementation of these improvements.
Qualifications/Education/Training
Essential
- Degree educated – honours level or equivalent
Desirable
- Member of a relevant professional body
- Postgraduate business or management qualification e.g., MBA
