Job Description

The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) will lead efforts to drive strategy development and execution to grow and differentiate the Group as a leading financial services provider. The CSO will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction that fosters innovation, diversity and engagement, and supports Group’s purpose of improving lives through leadership in financial services by Being Connectors of Positive Change.

This highly visible role will work collaboratively across the enterprise with the focus on accelerating organisational performance through cohesive strategy planning and delivery.

Minimum requirements Qualification(s):

• Post graduate qualification in Strategy or a related field.
• MBA would be an added advantage.

Experience/knowledge and skills:

• Seasoned professional, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in strategic planning, at least 5 of which should have been at an executive level. 3-5 years’ experience with a global strategy consulting firm would be an advantage.
• Proven track record with strategy planning, development and execution within a large enterprise(s).
• Proven strength in critical thinking as demonstrated in strategy development, business planning, enterprise architecture and operations.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply strategic methodologies to support with analyzing problems in order to guide and develop solutions.
• The ability to analyze data to identify trends and patterns in support of strategy development.
• A high level of confidence, integrity and can-do-attitude are required, as well as professional executive presence for interacting with and influencing key leadership and decision-makers.
• Ability to translate and communicate complex topics in a variety of forums, tailoring messaging to influence the targeted audience.
• Ability to bridge cultural boundaries and norms to overcome barriers and improve outcomes.
