Job Description
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety and security policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Establish short-term and long-term goals for the safety and security department in alignment with the company’s objectives.
- Ensure the workplace complies with EHS regulations and industry best practices.
- Lead initiatives to promote a safety culture, including training programs, safety drills, and awareness campaigns.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee the security of company facilities, assets, and personnel.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure preparedness for any security breaches or incidents.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and other agencies to enhance security measures.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Maintain and update safety records and incident reports.
- Prepare and present safety and security reports to senior management.
- Lead and mentor the safety and security team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a team-oriented environment and encourage collaboration across departments.
- Evaluate team performance and implement improvements as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Security Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 12+ years of experience in safety and security management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS programs.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP), or equivalent certification preferred.
- Ability to travel as needed to various company locations.
- Availability to respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours.
