Job Title: Head of Enterprise Banking - Mombasa

Role Purpose:
The role is responsible for leading the Enterprise Banking function with a focus on growing and optimizing the corporate client portfolio across designated business centres. The position drives growth in assets, liabilities and non-funded income while strengthening client relationships, improving credit quality and expanding transactional banking opportunities. The role also plays a strategic part in supporting the bank’s corporate banking agenda through market engagement, partnership development and delivery of high-quality client service.Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Responsibilities
- Develop and execute enterprise banking strategies aligned with the bank’s overall business objectives and growth plans.
- Contribute to business planning processes including preparation of corporate banking growth strategies and financial projections.
- Provide strategic input to senior management on developments within the corporate and enterprise banking segments.
- Identify market opportunities and build strong networks within the corporate sector to support business expansion.
Business Development & Portfolio Management
- Drive growth of the enterprise banking portfolio across assets, liabilities and off-balance-sheet exposures.
- Expand client relationships and increase utilisation of the bank’s products and services across corporate supply chains.
- Lead origination and structuring of financing opportunities including syndicated transactions where appropriate.
- Promote cross-selling opportunities across trade finance, transactional banking and other corporate banking services.
Risk & Credit Oversight
- Ensure the enterprise banking portfolio is managed within established credit and risk parameters.
- Maintain high credit quality standards while supporting sustainable portfolio growth.
- Monitor portfolio performance and take proactive measures to manage risk exposures.
Market Engagement
- Strengthen the bank’s presence in the corporate market through active networking and relationship development.
- Identify new business opportunities across corporate and institutional segments.
- Represent the bank in relevant industry forums, partnerships and stakeholder engagements.
Performance & Operational Excellence
- Drive achievement of profitability, productivity and revenue targets within the enterprise banking portfolio.
- Support growth of trade finance and regional business volumes.
- Promote operational efficiency and high service standards across client engagements.
Key Performance Indicators
- Growth of enterprise banking assets, liabilities and corporate accounts.
- Increase in non-funded income and transactional revenue.
- Portfolio profitability and productivity ratios.
- Expansion of trade finance and regional business volumes.
- Maintenance of credit quality within defined risk thresholds.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years’ banking experience, with strong exposure to corporate or enterprise banking.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a senior corporate banking or relationship management role.
- Demonstrated track record in business development, client acquisition and relationship management.
- Strong understanding of corporate banking products including lending, trade finance and transactional services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification in banking, finance or accounting is an advantage.
