Parkside Recruitment are currently partnering with a rapidly growing company for the appointment of a Management Accountant.
You will ideally have 4 years experience in a similar position and be eager to progress your career into a fast paced role.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the whole of the finance function, which includes the Reporting department and (via the Finance Team Manager) Sales Ledger invoicing; Purchase Ledger payments; Credit control; incoming payments via direct debit, credit and debit cards, cheques and cash; Debt collection and recovery.
- Responsible for the management of working capital (cash in particular) Tax compliance including VAT, Corporation tax, Landfill tax and Aggregate tax; Assisting in preparing of annual budgets.
- Overseeing the preparation of monthly 'sales & costs' (divisional gross profit) schedules for department managers.
- Ensure the Company's financial records are retained in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Carry out Individual Reviews for direct reports and ensuring that they in turn carry out Reviews with their employees.
- In managing the managers within the area of responsibility, demonstrate consistently correct decision making when judging the level of seriousness of issues, the mitigating actions required and the management level to which they must be elevated.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for the Board of Directors.
- Liaise with external advisors on the preparation of statutory financial information.
- Maintain and improve when appropriate the Company accounting system, including the COA, to ensure it meets the current and ongoing needs of the business.
- Play an active role in the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to Senior Leadership meetings and discussions in a constructive and forward-thinking way.
Skills and Experience:
- Ideally 5 years' management experience within a finance environment, with sound evidence of managing and motivating people effectively.
- A good understanding and detailed up to date working knowledge of accounting standards and VAT.
- Proficient IT skills with an in-depth comprehensive understanding of accounting software and Excel.
- Excellent understanding of the importance of handling confidential information.
- Strong commercial and technical finance experience.
- Confident and professional communicator, both written and verbal.
- Ability to progress and amend systems and processes within a growing business whilst maintaining compliance.
- Effective, professional and confident decision-making skills.
- Effective and professional relationship-building, interpersonal and influencing skills.
