Position Summary:

The Head of Investment Banking will be responsible for overseeing and driving the strategic direction of the Investment Banking division. This executive leadership role will involve developing and executing strategies to enhance the market presence, build and maintain strong client relationships, and deliver exceptional financial services within the investment banking domain.

Responsibilities:

Strategy Development and Execution:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive and innovative investment banking strategy aligned with the bank's overall objectives.
• Ensure strategic initiatives are implemented effectively to achieve growth and profitability targets.

Team Leadership:

• Build, develop, and lead a high-performing investment banking team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous learning.

Client Relationship Management:

• Establish and nurture strong relationships with key clients, institutional investors, and other stakeholders.
• Identify and capitalize on business development opportunities.

Risk Management:

• Implement robust risk management practices to safeguard the bank's interests and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Financial Performance:

• Drive revenue growth and profitability for the Investment Banking division.
• Monitor financial performance, analyze financial data, and make data-driven decisions.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:

• Ensure that all investment banking activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
• Stay informed about industry trends and changing regulations to adapt strategies accordingly.

Market Analysis and Trends:

• Stay informed about global and local economic and market conditions.
• Utilize market insights to make informed investment decisions and anticipate market trends.

Communication and Reporting:

• Regularly report to the Board of Directors on the division's performance, strategies, and challenges.
• Maintain open and transparent communication with all stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in investment banking or related fields.
• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the investment banking sector.
• In-depth knowledge of the Ghanaian financial industry and regulatory framework.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Master's degree in finance, business, or a related field (preferred).
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, MBA) are a plus.
