Candidate profile: The Bank seeks someone with a sound knowledge of Islamic Banking Operations and Islamic Shariah Principles, Islamic Banking deposits & Investment Products. He/she should be well aware of the global practice of Islamic Economics, Islamic Banking and Islamic Banking Products, including a thorough knowledge of Murabaha, Ijarah, Mudarabah, Musharakah Investments and Sukuks.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing, planning, organising, controlling and guiding the day-to-day activities of the Islamic Banking Division of the bank.
- Drive growth in the size of the Islamic Banking Division by achieving periodical business, deposit and lending targets.
- Formulate business strategies, policies and plans; set strategic goals and objectives and implement necessary programs to achieve the Islamic Banking targets.
- Responsible for business development strategies and delivery of financial targets and coordinating the launch of new Islamic Banking products as per plan and in a timely manner.
- Increase market share regarding the number of customers/broadened relationships and profitability through quality service delivery.
- Ensure strict compliance with internal policies, directives and guidelines from the Central Bank and other regulatory bodies.
- Ensure all staff are adequately trained to support the division positively regarding sales, product development, risk management and operations.
- Design and coordinate the development, rollout and management of Islamic Banking products.
QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Banking or Finance from a recognised university or a professional qualification in Islamic Banking.
- A minimum of 5 years of management experience with specific expertise in marketing/sales/product development of Islamic Banking products and services with a proven success record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and French. A good level of English will be desirable.
- Proven people, leadership, communication, negotiation, and risk analytical skills.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of Islamic products and structuring capabilities.
