The Role:
The Head of Operations will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day operations of our fasteners division. This vital role will play a significant part in ensuring the division's operational excellence, efficiency, and profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the entire fasteners division, setting clear goals, objectives, and aligning them with the overall business strategy.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of over 500 employees, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Oversee all aspects of production, including planning, scheduling, inventory management, and quality control, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Implement and maintain robust quality management systems, ensuring adherence to all industry standards and regulations.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to understand customer needs and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Manage the division's budget and financial performance, having a fair understanding of P&L handling.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements, adapting strategies and operations accordingly.
- Report directly to the Business Head, providing regular updates on divisional performance and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 18-25 years of experience, with at least 10 years specifically in the fasteners industry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a plant head or head of operations position.
- Proven track record of leading and managing large, complex operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and quality control principles.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- People's person with a strong commitment to building and maintaining positive relationships.
- Well-versed in all quality aspects related to the fasteners industry.
- Fair knowledge of P&L handling.
