Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
2. Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with both local and international suppliers. Negotiate favourable terms and agreements to ensure cost-effective procurement.
3. Sourcing and Localization: Identify opportunities for localizing the procurement of electrical and mechanical components within India to reduce lead times and enhance supply chain resilience.
4. Import Procurement: Oversee the importation of components from international suppliers, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation.
5. Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 4 procurement professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
6. Cost Optimization: Implement cost-saving initiatives, such as bulk purchasing, vendor consolidation, and value engineering, to maximize cost efficiency.
7. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that purchased components meet the required quality standards and specifications.
8. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and regulatory changes.
9. Budget Management: Develop and manage the procurement budget, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial targets.
10. Reporting: Generate regular reports and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of procurement strategies and communicate results to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, with 8 years+ in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical components procurement.
- Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations and practices.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve results.
- Analytical and strategic thinking skills with a focus on cost optimization.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools: SAP.
- Strong project management skills.
