Job Purpose(s)
- Manage and provide strategic leadership and oversight on Securities/ proprietary trading.
- Set and drive implementation of business strategies which contribute to the organization’s market share, profitability, and related objectives in the division
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the formulation and implementation of market risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Deploy the use of technology tools to forecast market directions.
- Provide regular report on market for Prop Trading.
- Manage a team of asset (equity, fixed income, etc.) traders to aggressively build the business to achieve annual revenue and business growth targets.
- Build Company’s reputation in the marketplace as a market maker in the respective asset classes.
- Develop and execute trading to support other business divisions in generating revenue or hedging risks.
- Monitor market to analyse trends and events that may impact trading strategies and use information to advice clients.
- Develop the department’s budget in line with Company’s strategies and use information to advice clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Management / Board.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Market share – trading volumes.
- Contribution to Company’s profit.
- Cost effectiveness of the department.
- Compliance to risk limits.
- Service quality
Job Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Any of MBA, ACA, ACCA, CFA, ACS, CIS, Treasury Dealer Certificate or similar qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Financial Services Industry with +3 years related work experience.

- Shareholder Funds Management
- CSCS Trading platform
- Portfolio recovery and consolidation
- Dematerialization process
- Workings of registrars
- Regulatory compliance

- Strong knowledge of financial markets and instruments.
