Develop initiatives that maximize benefits from emerging technologies, coach and lead the procurement organization, identify, and lead the team and seek out cost reduction opportunities and develop and drive transport procurement business strategy
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Financial: Cost Savings for procurement, Partnerships with real estate agencies & overall cost reduction.
- Customer: Focusing on Customer Centricity, Providing Pro-active solutions understanding the stated / unstated needs, Achieving the desired CSAT scores (Procurement & Real Estate).
- Processes: Setting up SOPs & policies, evaluating ARC (annual rate contracting) (For Procurement & real estate), Digitization of warehouse procurement.
- Learnings: Employee, business partner, and community engagement.
What you will learn and contribute to:
- Create strategic alliances for key products, lead effective cost negotiations and efficient delivery timelines for the largest and most strategically important projects.
- Provide strategic business orientation by anticipating and leveraging business opportunities and offer strategic foresights derived from the implementation learnings.
- Provide recommendations on strategic alliances and innovative deal structuring.
Strategic:
- Making the transport sourcing activity a tech-enabled one with scientific derivations of costs.
- Regularly monitoring market intelligence and competitors’ activities for innovative operational and sourcing strategies.
- Developing business partners/ associates across India - Support the strategic direction of the business, carry out client management activities leading to continued growth.
- To build the organization's capability of providing end to end solutions to the client by transportation process design and implementation to provide an edge over the competition.
- Achieve Gross Profit targets for transportation through controlling the sell and buy rate of transportation services.
- Ensure creation of central repository of transportation rates and regular updating of the same.
- Suggesting Legal/ OPS viewpoints related to transportation and ensure these are agreed and signed off before final submission of proposal to the customers.

Functional:
- Manage Material and Real Estate Procurement needs for SCM Verticals such as AFS, Consumer & Manufacturing, E-Com businesses covering Transportation, Stores & Line Feed and Warehousing/Sort Centre domains.
- Measure, prioritize and allocate procurement tasks to team members.
- Develop and maintain governance tools, templates, guidelines, procedures, and processes.
- Develop relationships with stakeholders (internal and customers) to understand overall expectations and deliverables.
- Establish, maintain, and provide management reporting using appropriate metrics adopting Digital tools.
- Drive and maintain vendor relations on E2E basis.
- Ensure effective communication with Customers, Project Sponsors, Project Managers, Vertical Heads, and other stakeholders.
- Engage with key stakeholders to evaluate proposed and ongoing requirement specifications based on value, quality, risk, effort, cost, and strategic alignment.
- Monitor team KPIs and required course corrections.
- Ensure superior Service delivery / customer satisfaction & conduct associated customer feedback exercises.
- Ensure the Procurement is well within the OCF (PRF) cost estimates and Agreement construct.
- Make visits to vendor material manufacturing locations and warehouse sites and develop relations as required (pan-country travel involved).
- Organise scheduled & structured conference calls with vendors, minute same with follow-up actions.
- Ensure customer service ownership.
- Be responsible for Procure to Pay Cycle, analyse trends, and maintain necessary records of procurement spend/materials movement.
- Develop deep collaborative and innovative relationships with stakeholders to foster right level of procurement involvement in projects.
- Build a strong network of developers/brokers/IPC in various geographies in order to ensure faster turnaround of sales enquiries.
- Lead the supplier relationship management / contract management & internal stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure team updates the procurement issue tracker on daily basis and circulate among the stake holders.
- Set up project calls, discuss the bottlenecks and reach out to concerned stake holders for resolution.
- Work with key stakeholders to assess and track financial impact of all project work.
- Develop and ensure compliance with best procurement practices.
- Proactively keep track of procured items till payments.
People:
- Designing DWM/KRA/KPI/SOP/ for better control on the operational and human resource processes.
- Actively involved in structured reviews with vendors / clients to establish relationship, share data/information and propose corrective action plans, develop solutions after understanding the changing business requirements.
- Continuous skill and process development of the transportation team through training and development initiatives for team members and partners and IT implementation.
- Mentoring / Coaching the team members to build up team spirit, integrity, motivation and giving the candid feedbacks wherever improvements are required.
