Job Title: Infrastructure System Engineer - Audio-Visual Automation
Location: Brussels

Description of the Tasks:
As an Infrastructure System Engineer for Audio-Visual Automation, you will be responsible for a diverse set of tasks, collaborating with the Software and Infrastructure Architect. Your key responsibilities include:

Practical Testing and Implementation:
Test, evaluate, validate, and implement the MERASE eco-system designed by the Software or Infrastructure Architect. -
Development and Maintenance:
Follow up on development, documentations, release control, maintenance, and technical support of infrastructure software components and services that align with Audio-Visual automation infrastructure specifications. -
Assistance and Support:
Provide assistance and support to Software Architects and Information System developers. -
Documentation:
Produce project, technical, and end-user documentation. -
Monitoring and Configuration Management:
Monitor the MERASE automation eco-system infrastructure.
Perform configuration management tasks and procedures on room automation systems. -
Technical Responsibilities:
Take technical responsibility for infrastructure development projects. -
Deployment and Training:
Assist in the configuration of audio-visual automation systems for production deployment.
Train administrators and users on the deployed systems. -
Collaboration and Meetings:
Actively participate in meetings within the relevant Commission services.
Level of Education: As per Article 2.6.3.1 of DIGIT-TM II Service requirements, a minimum educational qualification corresponding to Level 6 of the European Qualification Framework, typically equivalent to a bachelor’s level or 3 years of higher education.
Knowledge and Skills: Candidates must possess the following skills and knowledge:
- Knowledge of audio-visual automation systems (e.g., AMX, Crestron, or equivalent systems).
- Familiarity with Windows or Linux-based operating systems used in the Commission.
- Writing technical and end-user documentation skills.
- ITIL knowledge.
- Ability to apply high-quality standards.
- Proficiency in using ticketing systems.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to write clear and structured technical documents.
- Ability to participate in technical meetings and demonstrate good communication skills.
Non-Technical Skills: Candidates should also possess non-technical skills such as integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability, experience in teamwork, participation in multilingual meetings, ability to work in multi-cultural environments, punctuality, dynamism, flexibility, problem-solving aptitude, excellent team player mentality, and a customer-oriented approach. Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) is essential.
Specific Expertise: Specific expertise required for the role includes knowledge of audio-visual automation systems, familiarity with web applications, apps back-end applications, infrastructure script, communication protocol, or other development areas relevant to the Automation eco-system. Good knowledge of Java (JEE) and .Net frameworks, Atlassian collaboration suite (Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence), relational database management, experience in component-based and service-oriented applications development or configuration, and understanding of modeling languages or tools (e.g., UML).
