Our client is an worldwide corporation with complex structure and variety of internal possibilities and with a very strong presence in Romania. 

It is a new interesting role, possibility to significantly contribute on its evolution. It has broad international exposure and to HQ directly.  

This international category manager position has technical reporting to the central category management in Central Europe.

KEY  role requirements:

• Implementation of a Plan-2-Strategy process for commodity groups in own area of responsibility, especially services, marketing, travel , energy etc - management (data / leverage analysis, commodity group strategy)

• Implementation of central purchasing / bundling projects in core commodity groups (tenders, negotiations, award recommendation and contract preparation)

• Proactive category management and control of decentralised purchasing activities e.g. tenders in the PHS countries
• Trend monitoring of the assigned categories and derivation of measures

Candidate Requirements:

• Commercial qualification (university degree or similar) with several years of professional experience in a comparable position - international category buyer or procurement manager background are a must
• Experience in project- and data-management

• Skills in strategic purchasing (potential identification, process optimisation, market, cost and price data analysis, strategic negotiation, contract management)
• Team player, willingness to work hard, innovative spirit, analytical way of working

• Excellent organisational and communication skills

• Very good MS Office (esp. Excel, Word, PowerBI, PowerPoint skills)

• Very good English skills (level C1), German skills would be an advantage
• Great flexibility and  open minded
• Able to spend time for onboarding abroad in the CEE HQ office, forming strong relationship with the HQ team (min 1 month potential time to spend abroad on induction). Travel time post induction is less than 10%.

This role is based in Bucharest and will have a hybrid regime (50:50 WFH/WFS).
