My Client is building an on-demand entertainment platform that enables consumers to access relevant content at super-fast speeds. They set up their zones across Transport, Hospitality, Retail, Healthcare, and even Public Places so that everyone can enjoy high quality, buffer-free, on-demand entertainment without being dependent on access to 4G or broadband.

Position : Lead Engineer OS 

Location : Bangalore 

Technical Responsibilities

The candidate will be in a solution focused role responsible for providing technical solutions, working both independently on assigned projects, and collaboratively with other team members.

● Building custom OS based on c to be used with a specific hardware platform.

● Testing, maintaining, enhancing, custom built OS for various features/requirements/use-cases.

● Building PoCs with new hardware and custom OS.

● Porting operating system and firmwares, including computer systems, circuit boards, routers, wireless access points, switches. etc.

● Maintaining and securing private repo for deb packages.

● Testing and reporting of all parts to ensure that they work properly.

● Maintain custom OS code repositories and build, optimize, automate building OS versions.

● Oversee the development of customized operating systems and hardware requirements.

● Plan and implement systems automation as required for better efficiency.

● Build, test, and modify product prototypes.

Experience and Skill Requirements

● At least 6 years of experience in operating systems and architecture (preferably debian, Ubantu based).

● Sound knowledge of Linux Operating System, Porting to new hardware, Building custom Operating System, Kernel compilation and building, core system tools such as Debian package manager, Linux system utilities, etc.

● Experience with various computing Embedded boards (Intel, ARM), Network device boards.

● Sound knowledge and experience of scripting languages (Shell, Python, C, etc.)

● Experience in containers and various containerisation approaches.

● Knowledge and experience with Wired & Wireless networking equipment.Experience and Skill Requirements

● Understands project management principles and the project lifecycle.

● Proven ability to use project planning and tracking tools.
