Lead Technical Writer -Mumbai Location in a multiplatform tech company specializing in retail-tech solutions with a talented team of over 800 professionals 

Our Client is looking for Lead Technical Writers to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the 
overall success of our products. You will join a team of talented tech writers who work collaboratively with 
developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make our products easier to use. 
 Position: Lead Technical Writer 
Work- 5 days from the office  
Interview Rounds - 1st & 2nd Virtual Round then Task, 3rd Virtual Round & then Final F2F round 
Qualifications: 

• BE IT or BSc Computer Science 
• Strong written and oral communication skills 

Preference: 

• Prior experience in technical writing (portfolio required) 
• Experience in product testing, support, or management with writing interest 

Responsibilities: 

• Simplify technical IT concepts into understandable content 
• Collaborate with stakeholders for accurate documentation 
• Ensure quality and consistency in technical materials 
•  Lead a team of technical writers to produce high-quality documentation for our products. 
•  Plan, create, and edit user guides, API documentation, and developer guides. 
•  Ensure all technical content is well-formatted, grammatically correct, and professional. 
•  Champion best practices in technical writing and ensure consistent standards across all documentation. 
•  Review and create UI text, including tooltips, error messages, and labels for buttons/fields in the software. 
•  Create and oversee the production of video tutorials to supplement the existing documentation. 
•  Gather continuous feedback from various teams and address their content requirements. 
•  Collaborate with other writers, designers, and developers to create marketing collaterals, such as blogs and whitepapers. 
•  Mentor and train junior technical writers, fostering their professional growth. 
•  Lead initiatives to improve documentation processes and standards. 
•  Provide guidance to developers and other team members on documentation-related queries. 

Specific Requirements- 

• 7+ years of relevant experience in technical writing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. 
• Strong leadership and team management skills. 
• Proven experience in writing, editing, researching, and planning software documentation. 
• Excellent skills in grammar, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
• Hands-on understanding of Git commands and GitHub/GitLab for version control. 
• Experience using static site generators and following the docs-as-code method (in Sublime or VS Code). 
• Familiarity with image and video-editing tools. 
• Decent knowledge of Javascript, HTML and CSS (need not be in a professional context). 
• Confident in working with multiple teams in parallel. 
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
• Knowledge of the e-commerce domain will be a huge plus. 
• Understanding of API and developer-oriented documentation.
